Michael Nakon was born on August 22, 1990 in Pittsburgh, PA. He split his childhood growing up between Pittsburgh and Washington, DC. At age 15, he began playing guitar after spending time with friends playing music and witnessing the power first-hand music could have. He became enamored with instrument, and with music in general. He majored in Western Music Theory at the University of Pittsburgh and played in the university Jazz Ensemble.
Today, Michael is a multi-instrumentalist and performs with a number of bands. He plays guitar for DC-based metal band Hydra Kyll, and bass for Virginia-based metalcore band Vacive. He is also a part of the studio project Meet The Architect. His influences include Angus Young, Tom Morello, James Hetfield, Misha Mansoor, and countless others.
In 2015, Michael’s band Hydra Kyll released his first EP with the band titled “Timelines”. Hydra Kyll is currently writing their debut full-length record, due in 2017. Meet The Architect is recording their full-length album, also due out in 2017. Vacive has begun writing their next release, their first with Michael.
