Marty Pelto

Marty Pelto was raised near Ithaca, NY, where he began playing guitar at the age of 15. In 1992, after graduating from music school (Binghamton University), Marty relocated to Nashville, TN. Since then, his passion for guitar and eclectic tastes have lead him on a wild musical journey. Marty released his first album with the band Tangent Kings in 2000, and reached regional success and notoriety. After that project, he moved on to touring with the show bands Stone Cold Fox and White Leppard Crüe. This gig ultimately lead to a several year stint as lead guitar in the Atlanta Based Bon Jovi tribute band, Slippery When Wet.

In 2009 Marty redirected his career back to composing original music. Since then, he has released 3 albums with his band Snow Black Sunday and 1 album with Dead Hollywood Stuntmen. In 2013, Marty had the fortune of winning the Sam Ash – Best in Shred contest, which lead to opening a show for Steve Vai, at the Bijou Theatre in Knoxville, TN. Currently Marty is working on writing and recording a solo guitar album. Marty’s instrument of choice is his Knaggs Kenai T2 California Sunset paired with a Friedman BE 100 half stack.
