Jimi Haha (James Davies) is the founding member/singer/guitar player for Jimmie’s Chicken Shack.
Signed to Elton John’s Rocket records in the mid 90s Jimmie’s Chicken Shack pioneered the post grunge sound of the east coast melding Rock, Reggae, Pop, Funk, Hip Hop and Blues. Releasing records for Rocket, Island/Def Jam, Koch records over the past 20 years J.C.S. still play hard and have fun. They had 2 top 10 singles in different radio formats. First with “High” in 1997 in the active rock chart, which was also the first digital video on MTV. There 2nd hit was “Do Right” in 2000 in the alternative rock format. Jimi started Fowl records in the 90s and still releases music from J.C.S. and his other band Jarflys. J.C.S. have toured all over the US and in Europe. They are known for their high energy and comical shows as well as their genre escaping writing. Jimi plays a one of a kind Kenai, with just a volume knob, neck pick up and no finish. He calls it his “utilitarian” model. Jimi played in the band 10xBig in the 80s while working with Joe Knaggs in the finish department of PRS.
Jimi was the first employee to ever be endorsed. Now Jimi plays Knaggs electrics and acoustics. “They are works of art.”
